| 2008 will see the 14th running of this famous local swimming event. Born from the old days when the odd Stockton Surf Club member who had missed the ferry would make the swim back home (not recommended!!), the Newcastle Harbour Swim is now a recognised event on the States swimming calendar. |

To be held Australia Day (Saturday 26 January 2008) the event will again be run by H Events in conjunction with the Stockton Surf Club (SLSC). This partnership aspires to grow this event into one of the best open water swims in Australia.
The Event is an open water swim of either 700m or 1400 and will take place from Queens Wharf at the later time of 11.30am (due to big tides) on Australia Day, 26 Jan 2008.
